Some health concerns don't fit neatly into a traditional pediatric visit.

When Your Child

Needs More.

Expanded Pediatric Care at Shipley Pediatrics provides families with ongoing, personalized support for children with complex, chronic, neurologic, developmental, or whole-child health concerns.

More time to listen. More time to investigate. More time to build a plan around your child.

Sometimes a child needs more than routine primary care.

What Is Expanded Pediatric Care?

Symptoms may overlap. Previous treatments may not have provided the answers you hoped for. Or you may simply feel there is more to understand about what's happening with your child.

Expanded Pediatric Care gives Jen the time and flexibility to take a deeper look at your child's health, history, symptoms, lifestyle, development, and overall well-being.

The goal isn't simply to address one symptom at a time. It's to better understand the whole picture and develop an individualized plan for your child.

Who Is Expanded Pediatric Care For?

ADHD & ADD

Support for children with attention, focus, behavioral, executive-function, and related concerns.

Developmental & Behavioral Concerns

When your child isn't feeling well, you'll have access to the practice you already know and trust rather than starting over with someone unfamiliar with their history.

Functional & Whole-Child Pediatric Care

Appointments are designed to allow more time for conversation, questions, and understanding the bigger picture—not simply getting through the next appointment.

Complex Pediatric Concerns

For children whose symptoms don't fit neatly into one category or families who feel they need more time and a broader perspective to understand what may be happening.

Migraines & Headaches

Evaluation and ongoing management for children experiencing recurring headaches, migraines, or related symptoms.

POTS & Autonomic Concerns

Support for children and adolescents experiencing dizziness, fatigue, heart-rate changes, exercise intolerance, and other concerns related to autonomic function.

Neurologic Concerns

Jen's extensive pediatric neurology background provides an additional level of experience for families navigating neurologic symptoms and diagnoses.

Looking at More

Than a Diagnosis

At Shipley Pediatrics, we understand that children with complex concerns often don't fit into a single box. A child's headaches may be connected to sleep. Fatigue may overlap with nutrition, hydration, stress, autonomic function, or another underlying concern. Attention challenges may exist alongside sleep, behavioral, developmental, or other health factors.

Expanded Pediatric Care allows Jen to take the time to look at these connections rather than focusing only on a diagnosis. It's about understanding your child—not simply treating a symptom.

Meet Jennifer Shipley, CPNP

Experience That Makes

a Difference

Jennifer brings decades of pediatric nursing experience and extensive experience in pediatric neurology to the care of children with complex needs.

That experience allows her to combine traditional pediatric knowledge with a broader, whole-child approach—while recognizing when additional testing, specialty care, or collaboration with another provider may be appropriate.

What Does Membership Provide?

Expanded Pediatric Care is designed to create an ongoing care relationship rather than a single one-time consultation.

Depending on your child's individual needs, care may include:

·         Ongoing visits and follow-up

·         Extended time to discuss complex concerns

·         Review of medical history and previous care

·         Medication management when appropriate

·         Growth, development, nutrition, sleep, and

lifestyle evaluation

·         Coordination with specialists and other

members of your child's care team

·         Monitoring progress and adjusting the care

plan over time

Your child's specific plan will depend on their individual health needs.

What About My Child's

Primary Care?

Expanded Pediatric Care is designed for specialized and complex pediatric needs and does not necessarily replace your child's primary care provider.

Families should maintain appropriate primary care and health insurance coverage for services outside of the Expanded Pediatric Care membership.

If you're looking for Shipley Pediatrics to become your child's ongoing primary care practice, our Pediatric Direct Primary Care membership may be the better fit.

PANS & PANDAS

Families seeking care specifically for suspected or diagnosed PANS or PANDAS will have a dedicated care pathway through Shipley Pediatrics.

Because these conditions can require a specialized approach to evaluation and ongoing management, we've created separate information for families looking specifically for this type of care.
